Biographical Info

 

Edda Willamowski is a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at the Department of Anthropology at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. In 2022, she received her doctorate from the Freie Universität Berlin with a thesis on the relationship between mental health, forced migration, and spatial perception in the lives of elderly Vietnamese refugees.

Her interests pertain to the fields of psychological anthropology, phenomenological anthropology, anthropology of silence, affect and emotion, refugee and migration studies, and the critical anthropology of trauma. Regionally, she concentrates on transnational lifeworlds between Vietnam, Germany, and the USA. She has worked interdisciplinary, engaged, and collaborative with colleagues from the psy-scientists. Since 2019, she has been co-spokesperson of the Psychological Anthropology working group of the German Association of Social and Cultural Anthropology.
