SPECIAL EVENT

LEARNING HOW TO ASK: ETHNOGRAPHY AND SYSTEMIC PSYCHOTHERAPY: a workshop

Dr Inga-Britt Krause & Professor Keir Martin

Friday 18th October 2019 2-5pm,
Tavistock Clinic, Lecture Theatre

Following on from Gregory Bateson’s path breaking work connecting anthropology and psychotherapy/clinical mental health practice, this workshop aims to explore the contemporary relationship between ethnography and systemic psychotherapy and what each discipline can learn from the other. It provides a venue and an occasion for a dynamic interaction between ethnographers and systemic psychotherapists as we hope the participants will work in mixed groups encouraging each other to present practice and reflect on their methods of work. The methodological issues are also relevant to qualitative researchers and our intention is to encourage exploration and assist participants to develop new lines of enquiry for themselves and their disciplines.

We are very pleased to invite you all to this free seminar. For further information and to sign up contact Britt Krause:
