We are looking forward to welcoming you to to the next ENPA Works-in-Progress Seminar (WiPS)* on Thursday, the 24th of April at 5 PM CET via Zoom. Ildze Jakunova, from the University of Helsinki, will share her work-in-progress titled:
Navigating the fragmented landscape of mental health care

“In this paper, I explore the mental health care landscape in Latvia as experienced by young people living with depression and anxiety. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork with 18–30-year-olds in Riga, I trace their interactions with care services, highlighting key points of contention when seeking help and engaging with the state health care system, care specialists, and family. The analysis illustrates the fragmented nature of the care landscape, shaped by biomedical and psychological frameworks and local cultural and historical legacies. This discussion aims to underscore how personal care practices play a significant role in managing mental health.”
